Unbelievable Day at Unbelievable Acres

A couple of weekends ago I took my class from the Armory Art Center to Unbelievable Acres to make up for a missed class during the previous session. We invited Amy along as our wood nymph for the day. She was quite at home in the little rain forest Gene has created.

Gene started his rain forest back in 1970 by planting the trees that are now the canopy overhead. After the canopy was providing enough shade he added the smaller shrubs and plants that grow in a rain forest habitat. He conducts private group tours as well as allowing photographers to use his 2 1/2 acres of paradise by appointment only. Once a month he has an open house, well actually an open forest, for garden tours.

I shot along with the students and got quite a few good shots and many good ideas.

You can check with the Armory Art Center, www.armoryart.org for more information on my Photographing the Human form class as well as other photography and fine art classes and workshops.
